On the first day of the second round, as per usual, collective testing were held, providing Teams and drivers with one last opportunity to fine-tune their cars. MP Motorsport performed exceptionally well, with Frenchman Sami Meguetounif setting the fastest lap time overall in the second session with a time of 1:36.361. Andrea Kimi Antonelli from PREMA Racing secured the second position, trailing by a margin of +0.218. Antonelli, hailing from Bologna, is seeking a strong comeback after a mixed weekend at his home circuit during the first round, where he couldn’t participate in Sunday’s activities due to car issues. Tim Tramnitz, the German driver from R-ace GP, claimed the third-best lap time today, closely trailing by +0.238 behind Meguetounif (only two hundredths of a second behind Antonelli in P2).Taking the fourth spot on the first day was Macéo Capietto, a French driver from RPM, with a gap of +0.270. He was followed by Joshua Dufek from Van Amersfoort Racing, had his best lap at +0.299. This means that the top 5 positions were occupied by representatives from five different teams, showcasing the high level of competition in the series. Norwegian rookie Stenshorne was followed by Victor Bernier from MP Motorsport, with the gap starting to widen at +0.537. Michael Belov (+0.539) from G4 Racing, Roman Bilinski (+0.541) from Trident, and Kas Haverkort (+0.560) from Van Amersfoort Racing rounded off the top 10.The weekend’s schedule:Qualifying sessions will take place on Saturday, May 20th. The first session will run from 9:45 to 10:00 for group A, and from 10:05 to 10:20 for group B. This session will determine the starting grid for race 2. The second session will be held from 14:10 to 14:25 for group B, and from 14:30 to 14:45 for group A, establishing the starting grid for race 1.Race 1 will kick off the weekend’s main events on Saturday evening. It will be a thrilling race lasting 30 minutes plus 1 lap, and it will start at 18:05.The final race of the Spanish weekend will take place on Sunday, May 21st.
